Community (01.01.2006)

On New Year's Day, all of the 5:00 pm Summit Ministries Bible studies gathered together for a message from Don Munton (Minister to Single Adults). It is always great to hear Don's heart -- especially for folks who are new to Summit and who have not had a chance to hear where he's coming from. God has done great things through Summit over the years, and it has been such a joy to experience it first-hand.

As 2006 gets underway, I ask that each of you pray about how God may have you contribute to what He is doing in The Real Deal, in Summit Ministries, at HFBC -- or anywhere in His kingdom! For some of you, it may be that God is leading you to take on an area of responsibility. For others, it may be that He wants you to invite a friend or co-worker to church. My hunch is that for all of us, His desire is for us to be participants in the story He is telling -- and not just idle bystanders.

The Real Deal will be back to normal next week, January 8, at 5:00 pm in the Harbor Room. We will continue our study of compassion as we work together to be the real deal -- individually and as a community of believers.
